There is an old saying that “perception is reality” and perhaps you have discovered the honesty of that statement in your life. At times, it is not what is actually in front of us that is going to make a difference but instead, it is our perception of what is in front of us. It’s the age-old question, is the glass half full or is it half-empty? The way that you see the glass is unique to you, and it can say much about who you are.
These factors have been known for many years, and psychologists have taken advantage of perception to help us determine who we are. One of those individuals was Herman Rorschach, a Swiss psychologist. Back in the 1960s, he developed an ink blot test that was instrumental in helping many psychologists to treat their patients. It is still something that is used even down to this day.
There were 10 cards in the “Rorschach test” and the perception of the inkblots on those cards could help a psychologist to examine a person’s personality characteristics as well as their emotional functioning. Those 10 original cards are shown in this video. So how will you do?
